Pressure ulcers (PUs) are a serious global health challenge, affecting large section of the population and putting immense pressure on healthcare systems. Sensor-based diagnostic tools monitoring systems have emerged as potential non-invasive solution to reduce occurrence new cases PUs promise significant reduction in treatment expenditure time. In this endeavour, present manuscript reviews advancements made last decade development commercial adoption different sensor for PU-associated chronic wound management. Different types smart been developed which pressure, chemical, optical sensors witnessed lot interest advancement among research communities industries alike. These utilize host nanomaterial-based sensing materials, flexible support, diverse transducing modes, device designs achieve high sensitivity selectivity skin temperature, humidity, biomarkers released from wound. Some these sensor’s array-based electronic (e-skin) has reached stage commercialization is being used products, such bandages, shoes, watches, mattress others. Nonetheless, further innovations necessary direction associating multiple arrays, particularly chemical sensor-based e-skins microsystem performing real-time assessment all critical parameters.
